INTERNS WANTED:
Mountain Dell Farm seeks two apprentices for 2008 season through Thanksgiving.
We have been making our living as organic farmers since 1990. Our
apprentices have gone on to become farmers, herbalists, chefs,
agricultural educators and alternative health practitioners.
Apprenticeship includes private cabin, board, plus excellent stipend
for 50-hour weeks. Must know how to work hard, although farm
experience is not necessary. Labors include planting, weeding,
picking and packing. We live in a beautiful land in the
foothills of the Catskills (the spiral crop circle at the top of this
page is our farm). Other activities at the farm include yoga,
medicinal herbs, poetry, politics, swimming in the pond, kayaking the

ASSISTANT
FARM MANAGER NEEDED: Phillies
Bridge Farm Project is hiring an Assistant Farm Manager for the
remainder of the 2008 season. This person will work with the
Farm Manager in many aspects of running a six acre garden and caring
for a small flock of sheep and laying hens. The Assistant will
also be involved in the day-to-day operation of a non-profit organization.
This is a perfect opportunity for someone who has completed a few
farming internships and is looking for the next step. Tractor
and animal husbandry experience is a plus. On-farm housing may
be available. Phillies Bridge Farm Project is located in a beautiful
setting only a 5 minute drive from the small city of New Paltz and

50-acre biodynamic/organic farm. This includes growing our 4-5 acre
market garden with a CSA and farmers market component as well

Farm (founding CRAFT member) markets locally to restaurants, csa's,
wholesale, and a Farmers' market. We are a couple (with 3 children)
in our 20th year farming (30 acres) who thrive on the creative
challenges of mind, body and spirit that are an integral part of this
sustainable lifestyle. We are looking for three apprentices from
March/April through November. $650 stipend/month plus modest end of
season bonus possible. Apprentices stay in a small apartment on farm
and/or an on-farm mobile home. Three meals /week are shared in
farmhouse and apprentices are always welcome to farm produce. The
workweek is 5 days plus Sat. Farmers' market. Apprentices are
included in all aspects of the farm from greenhouse to field work,
from managing equipment to marketing produce. We include our

work in the national office in Brooklyn, NYC. It is a terrific
way to learn about the food sector and the non-profit world, and to
be involved in a movement that seeks to preserve the world we live in

commitment. Full time commitment preferred. Interns who can dedicate
