Seed Production
The
limited number of seed growers is a major constraint that seed
companies face in serving the needs of regional markets.
Decentralized
local production can address the needs of Northeastern vegetable
growers and organic producers more specifically than large
commercial seed markets.
USDA
Plant Genetic Resources Unit will conduct workshops to provide
training in seed production for interested growers.
Provide
mobile seed processing equipment and service for producers and small
seed companies, including a belt thresher, rasp bar thresher, wet
vegetable seed processor, column blower, moisture meter and tomato
seed dryer.
