Position Title:
Highlands Farm General Manager

Position Description:

• Develop the vision for an 800+ acre community to include both residential and commercial land use
• Analyzing existing operations and recommend development ideas.
• Manage and operate all farming functions to include, but not limited to growing selections, schedule, and harvesting.
• Visiting the different divisions to inspect crops, livestock, and also perform tests on soil and water.
• Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
• Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery.
• Handling the production, marketing, and sale of products produced on the farm like fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, and grain.
• Ensuring all staff adheres to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborating with executive leadership team to prepare budgets and financial reports.
• Building professional networks and keeping abreast of developments in agricultural science.
• Provide consulting services to other Discovery Land Company projects as requested
• Hire, train, direct, and supervise farm staff as needed
• Any other duties as assigned

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays and an ability to work a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than 50 pounds.
