Building nutrition security and improving food access.
Our Farm Share Program provides New Yorkers access to fresh, local food via discounted Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares. CSA is a system where community members pay in advance for a portion of the farm’s upcoming harvest and receive a weekly box of farm-fresh food all season long. What makes CSA special is that members know where and how their food is grown and get to build a relationship with the farmer who grows it. For the farmers, the prepaid arrangement is a source of financial security. It provides them fair market value for their food, and helps them pay for seeds, equipment maintenance, and labor, while also helping to disperse the financial risks of crop failure.
