Join the NY Soil Health Alliance for a hands-on afternoon all about life in the soil, from microbes to mollusks. The event will cover new research on the microbiomes of urban ag soils; pests, beneficial insects, and other arthropods in the soil; strategies to support healthy soil biology on urban farms; biological amendments, with an arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi demonstration; and a winecap mushroom inoculation demo.
Visit the NY Soil Health website for information about this event and more summer field days.
Scholarships are available through Cornell’s Farm Ops project for U.S. military veterans who reside in New York State. Veterans may request reimbursement for mileage, registration fees, and in some cases a $100 participation stipend to offset related costs.
