Applications for both the 2025 and 2026 program years must be submitted to FSA by December 31, 2026.
*New York State plans to administer this program, but is waiting for FSA to open the application for states to apply. This page will be updated and certified operations communicated with as soon as we have an update.
Reimbursement Rates
OCCSP helps certified organic producers and handlers offset the costs of obtaining or maintaining USDA organic certification. Through the program, eligible operations can be reimbursed for up to 75% of eligible annual certification expenses, with a maximum reimbursement of $750 per certification scope. Eligible scopes include crops, wild crops, livestock, and processing/handling.
Eligible Costs
Eligible costs have been expanded to include application fees for each certification scope, inspection costs, fees for equivalency agreements, travel expenses for inspectors, user fees, sales assessments, and postage. If you have any of these expenses, you may be eligible to get them reimbursed.
How to Apply
At this time, only FSA is currently accepting applications. Below are the steps for applying.
If your operation is certified by NOFA-NY, you can contact finance@nofany.org for copies of your certificate and invoices or call: 607-724-9851 extension 115.
Apply with Farm Service Agency
Contact the Farm Service Agency (FSA) at your local USDA Service Center. You will need your operation’s organic certificate, receipts for eligible costs, and a completed application.
If you haven’t worked with FSA recently you may need to complete Form AD-2047 or Form SF 3881.
